About Us

Five Bugles Institute was founded in 2010 with five core values:
Duty, Honor, Courage, Tradition, and Excellence.

Our Core Belief - Five Bugles Institute

Our Core Belief

Our fundamental belief is to honor the history and traditions of the fire service while preparing tomorrow’s leaders for the challenges they will face. At the same time, we strive for an environment of educational excellence for all of our students, providing the most up to date training in full compliance with standards set forth by the Florida State Fire College.

Handpicked Instructors - Five Bugles Institute

Handpicked Instructors

Our instructors are handpicked based on their background, education, experience, and vision for the future of the fire service. They are required to attend regular staff meetings, and are subject to annual review to remain on staff with us. They are also encouraged to pursue additional training and education inside and outside of the fire service to better themselves in their chosen field.

Full Service Training Provider - Five Bugles Institute

Full Service Training Provider

FBI is a full service training provider. We are fully capable of teaching prerequisite and continuing education classes for Fire Inspector, Fire Investigator, Fire Instructor, State Pump Operator, Fire and Life Safety Educator, Fire Officer I and II, and part of the Fire Officer III curriculum. We also offer additional classes such as Public Information Officer, National Incident Management System classes (ICS-300 and ICS-400), and classes applicable towards advanced certifications for Inspector and Investigator.

Economical Tuition Rate - Five Bugles Institute

Economical Tuition Rate

Quality educational opportunities are only part of the equation. I understand how the economy has affected departments and their need to get more value for their investment. Five Bugles offers an economical tuition rate, plus offers a discount and first seating preference for agencies who host classes with us. Additionally, we have successfully been able to help our students transfer classes for college credits to St. Petersburg College (SPC), Hillsborough Community College, Polk State College, and other institutions.
